Getting Healthy to Bring Health

Story

Hey friends and family,

Did you know that Papua New Guinea is #152 on the Human Development Index while Australia is #2? 5 women in Papua New Guinea die in childbirth every day, 1 in 13 children die before the age of 5 and someone dies from Tuberculosis every 2 hours — this is just right off our coast.

For over five years, YWAM Medical Ships (MSA) have transported medical teams into remote areas of Papua New Guinea to deliver vital healthcare and training to the people. In order for their life-saving work to continue, MSA will need to raise $5 million for a new ship.

It sounds like an impossible figure, but I believe it is possible to overcome.

As a way of helping to make this possible, I will be overcoming my own impossible by losing 25 pounds by December 1. Before I attempt this challenge, though, I am hoping to get some support behind me. Anything that I raise will go into funding YWAM's new Medical Ship, and helping out our brothers and sisters over in Papua New Guinea.

Help me overcome the impossible as I Get Healthy to Bring Health,

Myself (Kelly), Andrea and Christiana are all full time volunteers with YWAM Medical Ships - Australia. Each of us is extremely challenged, because we are passionate about health in Papua New Guinea, and bringing people a new sense of life and joy through a healthy lifestyle. But we realized that we aren't living a healthy lifestyle in a nation that health is a viable option. We each struggle with eating food that doesn't bring us health or life. We also struggle with giving our bodies the daily exercise it needs to feel good. So are question was: How can we promote health to a nation if we are not living a healthy life ourselves?

So here is the challenge, each of us has, weight that we need to lose. We looked at what a healthy amount to lose would be in the amount of time that the money needs to be raised for the ship and we felt 25 pounds was a reasonable, yet very impossible goal.  Will you support us on this journey? You can pledge per pound, or just do a flat rate. Again all the money raised will be going to the medical ship. As we are eager to bring health to the nation of Papua New Guinea, will you help us GET HEALTHY TO BRING HEALTH?

by sharing my page, commenting, or clicking “donate now” to make a secure online donation.

Thanks so much for your support!

Warm Regards,

Kelly
